QuickReaction Monitoring

QuickReaction monitoring places your dedicated server front and center in our network operations center, and if your server at anytime becomes unreachable, one of our on-site data center technicians will immediately begin addressing the situation. Reactive managed hosting at its best.

QuickReaction monitoring is designed for organizations that need immediate assistance when ever your dedicated website hosting server is down. By selecting QuickReaction monitoring, your managed dedicated server will be added into our monitoring systems. If your managed server or dedicated hosting server appears to be down, our administrators will troubleshoot your managed server, and attempt to bring everything back online to ensure uninterrupted service.

  1. Hardware: every 2 minutes

  1. HTTP / HTTPS: every 1 minute

  1. FTP / SFTP: every 1 minute

  1. DNS: every 1 minute

Automatic Event Notification

Automatic Event Notifications (AEN) are conducted by SingleHop's custom configuration of the industry standard Nagios monitoring system, which is an open-source critical system monitoring application used by some of the largest organizations in the world. This advanced dedicated hosting monitoring system is used in our network operations center, and will alert you when services for your dedicated hosting server you specify are unreachable.

AEN uses the same notification system as QuickReaction does. The service is often used in combination with QuickReaction to provide both SingleHop engineers and your own team with event notification.

Kernel & OS Updates (for Linux)

Whether you select a Linux dedicated server or a Windows dedicated server, our Kernel & OS Updates managed service will constantly keep your server up-to-date to keep it secure and current. It's important to both the integrity of the network, and particularly the reliability of your managed web hosting server to always have the latest updates and patches applied to the software that you're using.

This service insures that your software is always up-to-date and secure. While we cannot protect against weak passwords or insecure scripts running on the server, it will insure that the operating system is patched to the latest released version of the Kernel which SingleHop considers stable.

By being open source community sponsor of Kernel.org, the CentOS Foundation and a mirror sponsor for cPanel, we are able to have access to the latest versions of the Linux Kernel, Cpanel and other products quickly -- and we are able to update your dedicated servers software via our internal network saving time and bandwidth.

Kernel & OS Updates now includes Ksplice Uptrack for Linux servers. The technology offers Linux customers Reboot-less Kernel Updates means your servers core operating system is automatically updated without the need to restart your server. Given that currently most updates do require a server reboot, and that each reboot amounts to a few minutes of downtime, reboot-less updates can save your business hours of downtime every year. Best of all, it's free with SingleHop Kernel & OS Updates.

Ksplice Uptrack is a new service that lets you effortlessly keep your Linux systems up to date and secure, without rebooting. SingleHop is proud to announce an exclusive partnership with Ksplice to offer the Uptrack service to our customers.

SelfService Backup Space

SelfService Backup Space offers secure remote server backup storage services. SingleHop provides storage space and connectivity while you are responsible for configuration, creation and transmission of backups from your server to the backup node.

Server Side Virus Scanning

Install and manage server side anti-virus software on your SingleHop server. Includes regular fingerprint updates. Anti-virus software provided by ESET Node32 technology. ESET uses both signature-based and heuristic powered anti-virus software to scan and identify viruses and trojan horses in all their iterations. Both e-mail messages being sent and received via your server are scanned. All files added, modified, accessed or used by the operating system are also scanned.
